Parker's Outfitting April Slam

"The April Slam" is not your ordinary trip to say the least. This is a trip about doing multiple outdoor adventures all in the same vacation. Our goal is to get each person a turkey, shoot some fish, and catch some fish. As soon as you arrive we will have a meeting at the lodge and discuss things like weather and hunting/fishing forecasts. A plan will be made about the layout of the trip and off we go!

Turkey Hunt

If you're looking to kill a wild eastern turkey you have to try Northwest Tennessee around the Reelfoot Lake area. Its our goal for each person in the group to kill a turkey. We want to be as successful as possible so for this excursion we may choose for everyone to turkey hunt all on the same day or we may split the group and hunt at different times or different days. We want to be as successful as possible and watching the weather and scouting birds are important. You will need to bring such items as Camo Clothing including face mask, rain gear, good hunting boots or knee boots, a shotgun, and shells. If you need some shells I am sure we can find you some Hevi-Shot Ammunition.

Bowfishing Adventure

One of the best months of the year to Bowfish Reelfoot Lake is in the month of April. We will have the opportunity to shoot Carp, Buffalo, Gar, Bowfin, and Catfish. This hunt will be at night. We usually leave just before sunset and go over safety instructions and what to do. This trip is fun for both Guys and Girls and even Kids that are strong enough to pull back a 30lb draw weight. Keeping the weather forecast in mind we will plan an awesome night of bowfishing for the entire group. For this trip you should wear long pants and long shirts. If its chilly outside you should have a warm outer layer to wear. We have all of the bows, arrows, and other equipment you will need.

Fishing Experience

This fishing trip is not your standard Reelfoot Lake fishing trip. Our goal is to go catch some fish! Given weather conditions and what's biting we will then decide when you get here what species we are going after. You may have some choices but we will discuss that here at the lodge. This trip is not limited to just fishing Reelfoot Lake. We have many places to choose from in Obion County. There are several watersheds and we have access to a few private ponds and lakes. So if the Reelfoot is too rough and nasty we still have other options to go catch a mess of fish. We could fish for any or all of the following species of fish: Blue Gill, Shell Crackers, Crappie, Bass, and Catfish. We will have fishing gear for you to use but please feel free to bring your own fishing gear and be prepared for anything!
